Visa service

Apply for our 8-month TEFL & Spanish course that meets all the the requirements of the Student Visa. Become a Trinity TESOL certified English teacher, hone your skills and immerse yourself in Spanish culture!

Tourist Visa

If you are a non-EU TEFL student you can apply for a 3 month tourist visa, and you are free to study during this period. The 90 day tourist visa is automatic and there is no need for paperwork. If you plan to stay longer, you will need to apply for a student visa.

Student Visa

If you’re studying in Spain for more than six months, then you’ll need a student visa. For this you will be required to be on a course of study from 7-11 months and studying for a minimum of 20-hours a week.

Foreigner’s Office or police station.

Once the school confirms your acceptance and send your acceptance and enrolment letter, you can apply for your study visa at a Spanish consulate or embassy. Make sure you apply for your visa between two and three months before traveling to Spain to allow time to process your application.

What is required may vary from consulate to consulate. In general, you will need:
1. Full valid passport
2. Details of the study, training, or research that you’ll be doing in Spain, including the hours of study per week (20 at least) and proof of acceptance to the course in the form of an enrolment letter.
3. Proof that you have medical insurance for Spain; (not just travel insurance, it must cover your residence period in Spain)
4. A medical certificate confirming that you don’t have any diseases that would require you to be quarantined
5. Proof that you have the funds to support you for the duration of your stay in Spain (e.g., scholarship details, bank statements showing sufficient funds, letter from parents/guardians assuming full financial responsibility. (€6000 minimum for the full year)
6. Rental contract, or information about where you’ll be living
7. A criminal record certificate issued in the last five years by the relevant authorities in your home country.
The Spanish residence permit entitles you to work either part-time or in a temporary position, so long as you’re not using the money you earn to support yourself while you’re in Spain. You can work up to 20 hours a week while studying as long as it doesn’t interfere with your studies.
The company who employs you will need to get a work permit for you from the Foreigner’s Office. Your employment contract cannot exceed the duration of the study visa.
Can I travel in Europe before or after my student visa?
You may be allowed to travel before your course starts if you ask the consulate at the time of your visa application, but this can usually only be for a few days. However, once your student visa expires it will automatically switch to a 90-day tourist visa to allow you to travel around the Schengen zone.
