Trinity CertTESOL: Face-to-face and online courses

Course payment, cancellations and refunds

  1. Once accepted onto the course a deposit of 50% of your course fee will be required to reserve your place. You will only be accepted onto the course upon receipt of your deposit.
  2. The deposit is non-refundable.
  3. We reserve the right to cancel your application for non-payment.
  4. The total balance of course fees must be paid 2 weeks prior to the course start date. Should the balance not be paid within this time frame your position in the course will become available to other applicants, if the course meets capacity, your position will be forfeited. Your deposit can be transferred to an alternative start date.
  5. If you cancel or postpone your course:
    1. More than 4 weeks’ notice – you will receive no penalty and your deposit and additional paid course fees will be valid for a future course within 12 months, if you wish to cancel you will be entitled to a full refund minus your deposit.
    2. Less than 4 weeks’ notice – your deposit and additional paid course fees will be valid for a future course within 12 months, if you wish to cancel you will be refunded 50% of course fees paid minus your deposit. The cut-off point is 5pm Spanish time, on the Thursday 2-weeks prior to the Monday course start date.
    3. Once the course has started, no refunds or postponements will be offered.
    4. In the case of refunds, any fees owed will be returned to you within 90 days of the refund request and confirmation.
  6. TEFL in Spain reserves the right to cancel a course which does not meet the minimum number of students. In case of any cancellation by TEFL in Spain of a course which has not yet started, students will be reimbursed the full amount for the reservation or any other payment that has been made in advance. If appropriate, TEFL in Spain will give the student the opportunity to carry out the course in a different format, either online or in person.
  7. A fee of €150 is applicable for any referred assessments (failed assessments) for re-submission.
  8. TEFL in Spain reserves the right to use their own discretion on situations and may make exceptions on a case-by-case situation.
  9. Where a refund is given any bank charges related to transfers and exchange rate movements will be deducted from the refundable amount due.
  10. Online courses only: students are required to declare they have appropriate resources and environment to undertake an online course. This includes the appropriate hardware (laptop/computer) that has sufficient video and sound (speaker and microphone) capabilities along with sufficient internet connection.

Student Visas (TEFL and Spanish courses)

  1. The total course balance must be paid in advance prior to your visa appointment, in order to send you the appropriate course registration letter and proof of payment.
  2. If you need to cancel, we will only keep an administration fee of €150.
  3. You must give at least 3 weeks’ notice of your visa appointment in advance along with full payment, to allow for adequate time to prepare necessary documentation.
  4. If you require express shipping of the visa documentation you must pay the fees for shipping these documents in advance. This is typically 60-70€ and the letter will be sent by DHL courier.
  5. If a visa is rejected due to error by the student, the student will be entitled to a refund minus the administration fee of €150. Proof of rejection will be required to process the refund.
  6. If a student visa is processed and approved, no refunds will be issued.
  7. The TEFL and Spanish courses can both be moved online at the school’s discretion.
  8. If a TEFL / Spanish class falls on a public holiday, the class will not be recovered.
  9. Classes missed to a student’s absence cannot be recovered.


  1. Students are required to notify TEFL in Spain of their accommodation needs at least 4 weeks prior to arrival.
  2. If accommodation is requested less than 4 weeks before the course start date, TEFL in Spain cannot guarantee accommodation.
  3. Accommodation fees must be paid on arrival to the host/landlord. The accommodation service fee must be paid by the first day of your TEFL course to TEFL in Spain.
  4. TEFL in Spain cannot make any guarantees on location, flat type or included amenities.
  5. Trainees may be expected to pay a refundable €100 security deposit directly to accommodation host when they arrive. This will be refunded to you when you leave, assuming there are no damages to the flat.
  6. The 100€ security deposit can either be paid in cash.
  7. If a trainee arrives late, a late arrival fee may be charged by the host.
  8. Late arrivals are considered any arrival past 6pm.
  9. The host cannot be held responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings. We recommend students take out the appropriate travel insurance for their personal items.


  1. TEFL in Spain operates in a language academy and expects good conduct of behaviour. It is expected that trainees respect the academy, its staff, and other students.
  2. TEFL in Spain has the right to remove a trainee from the course and academy in a result of unacceptable behaviour that impacts staff and students. The trainee will not receive any reimbursement of course fees if they are removed from the course.
  3. If you miss any of the course sessions due to ill health you will have to provide a doctor’s note.
  4. If you miss more than 2 days of the course you may forfeit your place on the course and will have to pay an admin fee to make up the missed time on a future course.
  5. TEFL in Spain will not be responsible for unsuccessful completion of the course and will not offer refunds for uncompleted courses and will use discretion on a case-by-case basis for the opportunity to re-attend the course.
  6. The Trinity College London certificate in TESOL will be made available one month after course completion and will be sent as a PDF by email and also by standard post free of charge. For recorded delivery a fee of €10 is required.
  7. You can pick up your certificate form the school, or we can post it to you free of charge, via standard post. We will store the certificate for you for up to 1 year, after which you will have to contact Trinity College London directly to get a replacement hard copy and pay for the replacement.
  8. TEFL in Spain cannot be held responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings.
  9. TEFL in Spain reserves the right to update and make changes to their Terms and Conditions as they see fit.

Covid19 And Health Measures

  • TEFL in Spain follows the health and safety measures recommended by the government, and therefore reserves the right to adjust the maximum number of students allowed in the school, restructure groups and classes as appropriate, as well as cancelling them in case of risk of infection.
  • In case of a school closure, TEFL in Spain will offer 100% online classes as an alternative.
  • If necessary, TEFL in Spain reserves the right to offer a minimum service, such as a reduced timetable or change the teacher, as required.
  • TEFL in Spain reserves the right to not make any refunds in case of cancellations by the student.
  • If a student contracts Covid during their time on the course they will be required to self-isolate for the government-mandated period of time. TEFL in Spain will make accommodations to allow you to continue studying, but we cannot guarantee you will cover all the work necessary to pass the course.
  • If you are required to join a future group in order to complete the course, TEFL in Spain will waive any admin fee but you may be required to pay a moderation fee to Trinity College London (160€ approximately).
